The university’s administration had conducted a disciplinary inquiry regarding the incident while a group of students had protested against it by surrounding the Vice Chancellor’s office.
The suspension comes less than a week after 6 students of the University of Ruhuna were suspended also in connection with a ragging incident.
Five students from the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences and a student of the Management & Finance Faculty were suspended following an inquiry into a complaint against them.
